Services for Mr. Thomas "Bill" Motes, 78, of Piedmont who passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, will be Wednesday, April 10 at 3:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with visitation from 2-3 PM. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery off Babbling Brook Road in Vigo.
Mr. Motes, born to Charlie and Margaret Pilgrim Motes in Calhoun County, was a lumber foreman. He is survived by his wife, Mary Surrett Motes; two sons: Hank Motes and Charles Waylon (Cheryl) Motes; two daughters: Debra Murphy and Carol Mayes; 6 grandchildren: Jason Motes, Amy Motes, Molly Motes, Christal Murphy, Jonie Parker, Gary Wayne Murphy, Jr.; and 15 great grandchildren: Nicole, Steven, Dakota, Wendal, Dylan Williamson, Jaden Amberson, Trey Snyder, Mikayla Murphy, Jacob and Jordan Mahan, Alisha Kines, Nathan Motes, Haley Motes, and Walker and Ryder.
