Stephen Coleman Pollard, 84, of Nance’s Creek, AL, began his new life in Heaven on November 7th after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Borden Springs Church of Christ, with Mr. Gary McCurdy officiating. Visitation will be prior to service from 12:00 p.m. to service time. The family will receive friends beginning at noon, followed by a service filled with joyous singing in celebration of Steve’s new life with Jesus. Burial will follow at the Borden Springs Cemetery.
Steve (a.k.a. “Pops”) was a devoted brother, husband, father and grandfather. A native of Borden Springs, he was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, where he served most of his life as a gifted song leader. He began work as a Truck driver then transitioned to sales throughout his career. He enjoyed running and cycling for many decades and, of late,could often be seen on the Chief Ladiga Trail riding his recumbent bike with friends. Pops will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 63 years, Gail Morgan Pollard,of Nances Creek; son Rodney Pollard of Birmingham; daughter Renae Pollard Shah (Sandeep) of San Jose, California; five grandchildren, Cole Pollard (Olivia), Anna Pollard, Amber Pollard, Zachary Shah, and Zoe Shah Scott (Preston); two brothers Richard Pollard of Borden Springs, and Ken Pollard (Mary Lynn) of Franklin Tennessee; and a host nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Steve Ponder, Chad Brown, Ryan Prince,Robby Williams, Craig Ledbetter, Jeff Pollard, Cole Pollard and Zachary Shah. The family would like to extend gratitude to the Amedisys Hospice Care Givers that provided compassionate aid and counseling during the last few months of life. He was preceded in death by his son Bryan Morgan Pollard; parents, Will and Lottie Pollard; and his three sisters, Evelyn Pollard Prince, Jill Pollard Ledbetter and Kay Pollard Baswell.
