PHILLIP BRIAN SMART, 53, of Piedmont, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at his residence. He was employed with JSU in the maintenance department. He was preceded in death by his father: Thomas Smart; and brother: Eddie Smart. He is survived by his mother: Dean Minton Smart; son: Chad Smart; daughter: Dulcinea Smart; grandchildren; Devantae and Demirits Smart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. from Dansby Heritage Chapel with visitation
from 1-2 PM. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Rev. Charles Thomas and Rev. Clark Smart will officiate. Pallbearers will be Keith Smart, Jason Smart, Jeffery Smart, Coy Bragg, Robert Payne Tucker, and Blake Gilchrist.
The family requests no flowers but memorials to First Congregational Methodist Church, 310 Southern Ave., Piedmont, AL.
