Minnie Lee Surrett

MINNIE LEE SURRETT, 77 of Piedmont, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Piedmont Health Care Center.  Born in Polk County, Georgia, she was the last of the children born to Thomas Jefferson and Mary Elizabeth Ingle Tims.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her husband, Bobby Gene Surrett.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             For years she worked in the cotton mill. She was the proud mother of three daughters: Mel Mashburn (Lyn), Cindy Stone, and Kris Brooks (Robert). Her grandchildren are John Westbrook, Justin Westbrook, Jessica Barnes, Zach Mashburn, Ashlyn Mashburn, Summer Stone, and Levi Stone, and great grandchildren are Layton Westbrook, Waylon Carden, Weston Carden, Jordyn Smith and Mason Ledbetter.                                                                                                 She loved her husband, children and her grandchildren, doting on all of them.  And as any Southern Grandmother, she loved cooking for all of them, as well as anyone else who came to visit.                                                                                                                                                                                                           Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev.
