Mildred Powell

MILDRED LOUISE POWELL, 90, of Piedmont , passed away on Monday, November 17, 2018 at her residence.  She was born in Rock Run, AL to A.J. and Thelma Wood and was married to Ralph Powell.  She was a devoted and faithful member of the Congregational Holiness Church on Hughes Street.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Patsy Powell; brothers: Fred, Hoyt and Jack Wood; sisters: Betty Powell and Edith Street; and grandson: Joseph Highfield.

She is survived by three daughters: Freda (Gary) Davidson, Jenny (Eric) Hawthorne, and Becky Powell; brothers: Charles Wood and Jimmy Wood; grandchildren: Joni Highfield, Jacob Law, Austin Goss, Rachel Baggett, Daisy Baggett, and Owen Hawthorne; and great grandchildren: Lacie and Lila McMurray.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 19 at 3:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with visitation from 2- 3 PM.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Rev. Hayward Clark and Rev. Hollis Martin will officiate.  Flowers are accepted and memorials may be made to Congregational Holiness Church, 106 Hughes St., Piedmont, AL 36272.
