Melvin Lorren

MELVIN T LORREN, 84, of Winston, GA, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at
Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, GA.  He was born to Melvin Thomas and Maudie Beecham
Lorren in Borden Springs, AL.   He was retired from MARTA, was a Mason and was a member
of Borden Springs Church of Christ.  He proudly served his country during the
Korean War in the US Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents;  step father: Charlie Goodwin;
brothers: Elmer “Pete” Lorren, Henry Lorren, Paul Lorren, Franklin Goodwin,
Jerry Minton;
several sisters in law; and his in-laws: Dick and Dessie Pettyjohn.
Survivors include his wife of almost 61 years, Marion Minton Lorren
of Winston, GA;
daughter: Jennie (Joey) Brown of Douglasville, GA; sisters: Juanita Howard of
Columbus, GA and Mildred Bradley of Cedartown, GA; sister in law: Ruth Minton
and Barbara (Dickie) Pettyjohn; 2 grandchildren:  Kayla Brown and Korey Brown;
many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 1, at 1:00 PM Central Time
(2:00 PM Eastern Time)  with visitation from 11:00 AM – 1 PM Central Time
(12-2 PM Eastern Time) from Dansby Heritage Chapel.
Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Piedmont , AL.
