Matthew Ray Hooper, born to Samuel Hooper and Kimberly Dean, known to many as Matt, was a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend. Born on January 17, 1987, in Centre, Alabama, Matt spent his life as a hard-working constructor, dedicating himself to his craft and supporting his loved ones.

Matt proudly served in the Army, instilling a sense of duty and commitment that he carried throughout his life. He was not only hardworking but also embodied a caring and kind personality.

On October 4, 2025, Matt passed away, leaving behind a loving family and countless memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda Hooper, and their children: Carson McKnight, Denver Hooper, Daniel Hunt (Megan), Lori Hunt (Hunter McFry), Cloe Rae McBrayer, Avery Hooper, and Jaston Hooper. Matt also leaves behind parents, Samuel Hooper and Kimberly Dean (Tommy), and stepmother Annette Hooper, brothers Jerry McDaniel (Karen), Steve Eubanks (Jennifer), David McDaniel (Rebecca), and Christopher Hooper (Addison), as well as his sister Amber Hooper. His legacy continues through his grandson Jeremiah Hunt-Chew and granddaughter Onaleena Hunt-McFry. Also can't forget about his 2 grandchildren, Raelynn, that are on their way, including his many wonderful nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor Matt will be held on October 9, 2025, at Dansby Heritage Chapel in Piedmont, Alabama, starting at 5:00 PM. It will be a time for family and friends to come together and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched many hearts. His memory will live on in the stories shared and the love he spread throughout his life.
