Mary Ethel Stewart

October 8, 1923 — February 21, 2015

MARY ETHEL LUSK STEWART, 91 of Piedmont passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 surrounded by her family.  She was born in Nances Creek to Eugene Kirk and Elizabeth Rebecca Needham Lusk on October 8, 1923.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Boyd Stewart,  son, Larry William Stewart, and son in law, Horace McDowell, Jr.  She was employed at LawTex and then retired from Bostrom.  She was a faithful member of Piedmont Cumberland Presbyterian Church, loved to garden and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. from Piedmont Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jacob Sims and Rev. Wade Acton officiating.  She will lie in state at the church Tuesday from 1 – 2 PM.  Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 23 from 6-8 PM at  Dansby Heritage Chapel.                                                                                                                                           Ms Stewart is survived by her daughters:  Gail Stewart (Dennis) Maddox and Patricia Stewart McDowell; grandchildren: Rebecca  McDowell (Gary) Deason, Larry (Sam Gregory) McDowell, Michael (Julie) Maddox and Jordyn Maddox (Jeremy)Weaver ; and great grandchildren:  Noah Cole Maddox, Carter Maddox, Anna Maddox, Ellie Maddox, Patricia McDowell-Deason, Stewart McDowell-Deason, and Idris Gregory-McDowell .                                                                                                                                                  Dansby Heritage Chapel  is honored to serve the Stewart Family.
