Johnny Michael Puckett

On February 6, 2023, JOHNNY MICHAEL PUCKETT, 72, passed away after a long battle with injuries sustained from a vehicle accident that occurred on Sept. 26, 2022. Mr. Puckett was born on April 20, 1950 in Borden Springs, Cleburne Co., AL to his parents, the late Monroe Cleveland Puckett, Sr. and Barbara Allen Hooper Puckett McGee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Jo Ellen Lyle Pogue-Puckett; brothers: James Carl Puckett, Jean Wayne Puckett, and Monroe Cleveland Puckett, Jr., sister: Margaret Lee Matthews; and step son: Bobby Pogue.

He was a longtime resident of Piedmont, a member of Piedmont Church of God, also attended Dailey Street Baptist Church, and had been employed by B.R. Construction for 30 years.

He is survived by his daughter: Janie Barbara Cantrell (Ray Ryan) and granddaughter: Kathleen Jewel Cantrell of Grovetown, GA; brothers: Riley Hershel Puckett (Diane) of Tavares, FL, Henry Cleveland Puckett (Mary), and Bobby James Puckett, both of Piedmont; sisters: Bessie Jane Baker (Hal) of Bonaire, GA and Dot McElwee (Bobby) of Piedmont; stepdaughter: Becky Darlene Pogue (Joseph) Jones of Piedmont; stepsons: Tony Pogue (Tesha) and Grady Pogue (Lisa); and step grandchildren: Morgan Pogue and Dalton Lane; and several nieces and nephews.  

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Puckett will be cremated.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel.
