Joe Holland

July 11, 1939 — October 7, 2020

Joe Donald Holland , 81, of Spring Garden, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bibb County, AL to Claude Hubert and Willie Emmeline Little Holland.  He was a member of Larry Town Church and retired from the Army Air National Guard as a Flight Instructor. He was also a warrant officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings, and beloved daughter, Sandy Parker.

He is survived by his wife: Ramona Sanford Holland; three daughters and sons in law:  Tammi (Ashley) Penton, Tracy (Brian) Allen, and Jenny (Shane) Molock; sister: Estelle Reach; nine grandchildren: Tyler (Amber) Ballew, Gannon Parker, Andrew (Kelsey) Allen, Landon Allen, Caton (Clark) Fields, Will (Selena) Penton, Hayden Penton, Jacob (Rachel) Molock, and Haleigh Molock; four great grandchildren: Bella & Henry Ballew and Rhett and Rhylan Fields; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Holland was a man who loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was seen cheering the kids on in any sports in which they participated. He loved gardening, telling funny jokes, and was THE BEST checker player.  For years, he was an avid walker and prided himself on the fact he averaged 500 miles a year.  No matter the circumstance when asked, he was always “Just Right”.  He will be loved and missed dearly by those who love him but they will proudly cherish every memory.

Because of the Covid pandemic, the family will have a private, family only, graveside on Friday, October 9, 2020 from Carmel Cemetery. They will be accepting flowers or memorials to the Spring Garden Fire Department.  They ask for your understanding and that you respect their privacy during the graveside.

Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Holland Family.
