James WILLARD Brown

James WILLARD Brown, 83, of Piedmont, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.  Born in Temple, GA, he was one of eight children born to Vick and Nellie Jane Laymons Brown. His parents preceded him in death and also five siblings:  Tony Brown, Hershell Brown, J.W. Boone, Frank Boone, and Dorothy Barton. He was also preceded in death by nephews: Jason Wilkie and Terry Brown; and nieces: Jean Mayes and Angel Surrett.                                                                                           

He is survived by his wife: Janice Dyer Brown; sisters: Betty (Frankie) Gay and Lucy (Tommy) Surrett; special granddaughter: Brandy Hardin; and numerous nieces and nephews.                                                                                                                                         

Mr. Willard was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and was an interstate truck driver until his retirement from NCI Building Systems of Tallapoosa, GA. He was a devoted husband, loving brother and caring uncle.                                                         

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Rev. Bob Staggs officiating and burial in Goshen Valley Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday, September 24 from 6-8 PM at Dansby Heritage Chapel.        

Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Brown Family.
