James "Jimmy" Barrett Boatner

James (Jimmy) Barrett Boatner of Piedmont, AL passed away in his home surrounded by his family on 11-29-2023.
A private graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery by Reverend William Cain in Piedmont.
Jimmy was born in Calhoun County Alabama to Luther and Ola Boatner on 01-26-1946. He was a lifelong resident of Piedmont and worked more than 40 years at Federal Mogul in Jacksonville, AL. He enjoyed working on classic cars, 60/70's rock music, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. Jimmy also coached Baseball for several years for the Piedmont Parks and Recreation Department.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Louise Boatner of Piedmont, children Kerry Boatner (Jennifer), Shelia McBride-Peek (Larry), Stayce Floyd (Shane), and Misty McNew(Rod), grandchildren Gage Boatner, Courtney Leek, Josh McBride, Miranda Holcomb, Ava Boatner, Emma Boatner, and Hayden Floyd. He also has 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews across the United States. He was preceded in death by parents Luther and Ola, siblings Pete, Ethel, Ruth, and Gladys.                                Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Boatner Family.
