Gary Murphy

Gary Wayne Murphy, Sr., 57, of Piedmont passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Murphy was born in Piedmont to John Everette and Shirley Marie Studdard Murphy. He was employed at Bastrom Manufacturing. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Tommy and Bruce.                                                                                                                   He is survived by his son: Gary W. (Stephanie)  Murphy, Jr; two daughters: Christal B. Murphy and Jonie Rebecca Murphy; two brothers:  Danny (Deborah) Murphy and Kirby (Donna) Murphy; two sisters: Vickie M. (Bob) Boardwine and Kathy D.(Chester) Berry; and eleven grandchildren: Nicole Williamson, Steven Williamson, Dakota Williamson, Wendell Williamson, Dylan Williamson, Aliah Kines, Jacob Mahan, Jorden Mahan, Jaden Amberson, Trey Snyder, and Mikayla Murphy.      Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from Mt. Zion Cemetery in Cherokee County with Rev. Joey Spivey officiating. His son and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  The family requests memorials be made to the Cancer Society or any organization that helps families with costs related to cancer treatment.                                                   Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Murphy Family.
