Mr. Everitte Eugene Freeman, Jr., 78, of Piedmont passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, which was also his birthday. He was born in Dade County, FL to Everitte Eugene and Susie Mae Stricklin Freeman, Sr. He was a Union Master Electrician who served in the US Navy. Moving from Florida, he had lived in Piedmont for 22 years. He was an avid fisherman and a lover of animals.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Yvionne Fortenberry Freeman; son: Dennis Eugene Freeman; two daughters: Sandra Lott and Tracy Ann (Gerald) Brown; sister: Patricia McBratney; 5 grandchildren: Jordan Brooks, Crystal Bishop, Candace Ward, Cassie (Daniel) Oswalt, and Ciara Roberts; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Everitte E. Freeman, III, in 2010, and sister: Susie Robinson.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 11, at 1:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Eddie Lindsey officiating. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM at the funeral home and burial in Nances Creek Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, the Doctors and staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Dr. Russell Ulrich - Family Physician, and their friends and neighbors.
