Alice Fay Allen, 76, of Piedmont, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 28, 2022 at her residence.  She was one of seven children born in Piedmont to John Duncan and Naomi Delphine Doyal Canter.    She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Barbara Studdard, Charles Canter, Shelby Grimes, Betty Davis and Pat Davis.  She was also preceded in death by her husband: James “Jim” Allen, and children: an infant daughter, Melissa Nicholson, and Shane Nicholson. 

Survivors include her grandson: Brody Nicholson (Ashtin Tucker); and sister: Kay Thacker (John); and many nieces and nephews.

Ms Alice was one who was loved by everyone, with a gentle spirit and would give you the shirt off her back.  She loved cooking, working in her flower beds, and painting.  When she worked at The Fruit of the Loom Cotton Mill, she and her husband were on a bowling team and won many trophies.   One of her favorite past times was watching and ordering from QVC.  She was of the Baptist Faith.      

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from Dansby Heritage Chapel with visitation from 11 am – 1 pm.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.  Rev. Kevin Ward will officiate. 

Pallbearers will be Brody Nicholson, Dustin Davis, Zach Peoples, Kason Hughes, Jesse Fortenberry, and Steven Woods.
